Local news item - Apple iPad

I thought this article from New Zealand gave some perspective on the level of Apple iPad sales in Australia and would interest others.

 

I think it is interesting to keep in mind many of the initial sales are pre-ordered. To me these are sales which have already occurred. Including them on the day they become available is a good marketing exercise. The sales figures are indicative of what would be expected based on the population of Australia.

 

Australians bought an estimated 30,000 iPads on Friday as the product went on sale nationwide. A further 20,000 of the tablet computers were expected to be sold over weekend.
