Perhaps looking at alternatives to the Doncaster Rail line may be worth the effort.

I thought the post below regarding the Doncaster line was worth reading. It shows people are looking at things from different perspectives and to me that is a good thing. Often government reports are limited by the options they’re to review and often the independent studies aren’t as independent as they could be. I’ve noticed consultants can produce reports organisations want because if they don’t, they may just not get repeat business. Sometimes the draft report can contain better insight before the consultants are told what to remove.

A Doncaster line is always going to be an expensive option (especially after the compulsory government budget blow-out) - and many better plans are always going to trump it for years to come.... Read More

If there’s one catchphrase that gets me it is that Manningham is the only municipality without a railway line. That is true but there are lines to the north and south of the municipality. I grew up 4.5km away from a railway station and now I’m about 6km away. Not a great difference if you ask me. I suspect people in the east of the municipality will be closer to the Ringwood line than a Doncaster line so not much gain for them. Not having a line in the municipality isn’t a reason to get one.

Only about 3% of people regularly use trains to get from work and school and around 13% use public transport in Manningham. Isn’t it time that everyone was considered equally and not just the minority?
